We had a lot of fun at the Szechenyi Baths

We organized a city break in Budapest for our friend who is about to get married, and we really had a blast. The Szechenyi Baths were highly recommended, and we don't regret it one bit. We wanted to spend the day just chilling in the thermal water, but then we saw that there was a beer spa, and we couldn't resist. It was loads of fun, and we had a beer tap all to ourselves. We spent the rest of the day just enjoying ourselves at the Szechenyi Baths, as we had full-day access.

Beer spa session and the baths - the perfect combo

My girlfriend and I both love swimming and beer, so spending a full day at the Szechenyi Baths and going on a beer spa session was perfect for us. It was surprisingly pleasant to soak in warm thermal water while drinking cold beers! I must say that the place is clean and well-maintained, and it was a nice experience. Later we went from one pool to another and enjoyed our time swimming in mineral-rich thermal water. I saw some people even drink thermal water from the special fountain (not the pool, obviously). A man said to me that it is beneficial for health, but I didn't try it.

DESCRIPTION

Szechenyi Baths Entry Ticket and Beer Spa

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR BEER SPA SESSION

Your Szechenyi Baths and Beer Spa Ticket allows you to try this seemingly unusual combination. Here, you will enter a large wooden barrel filled with warm thermal water. While you get ready to enter, our staff will add a special mixture of hops, barley, malt, and a dash of sea salt. These ingredients are believed to be good for your skin as well as relaxation for your mind. Each barrel has space for two people, which means you can share this experience with your significant other. As you soak in the enriched thermal water, help yourself to some cold and refreshing beer. The beer tap is right beside you, as are clean beer mugs. And in case you're wondering, the beer supply is unlimited!

ENTRY TO THE SZECHENYI BATHS

Once you're done with your beer spa session, explore the rest of the Szechenyi Baths complex. This beautiful neo-Baroque building dates back to the early 20th century, the era of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The decorations and architecture of this lavish palace still feel a bit aristocratic. Did you know that Szechenyi Baths are the largest medicinal baths in Europe? The total water surface area of all indoor and outdoor pools is an astonishing 6,200 square meters! Here you will find 18 pools with various temperatures, and by each pool, there is a sign informing you of the temperature. Choose the one that suits you the most!

THE SZECHENYI BATHS THERMAL WATER

The thermal water you will be able to enjoy with the Szechenyi Bath Entry Ticket and Beer Spa comes from two springs that are located 975 meters (3,200 feet) and 1,256 meters (4,121 feet) below the ground. One spring delivers water that measures 74 °C (165 °F), and the other 77 °C (171 °F); however, they are cooled off before they reach the pools. This natural thermal water is rich in minerals and nutrients, including magnesium, calcium, chloride, hydrocarbonate, and sulfate, among others. These minerals are known to alleviate a number of medical conditions, especially those related to skin and joints. Due to the healing properties of its thermal water, the Szechenyi Baths continue to be in high demand by locals and foreign visitors alike. This combo ticket grants you full-day access, and we hope you use this to relax your body and mind.

Beer spa is much older than you think

A beer spa session might sound like something new, but it is actually a centuries-old practice. The first recorded beer spa enjoyer was King Wenceslas of Bohemia in 921 AD. Believing in the therapeutic properties of hops, barley, and malt, he preferred to soak in cold beer. Unlike King Wenceslas, who didn't have access to Szechenyi Baths thermal water, you will enjoy it at higher temperatures between 30°C and 38°C (86°F to 100°F).

Szechenyi Baths Entry Ticket and Beer Spa allows you to enjoy what was once a privilege of kings!
